Today was a really long day 0800 until 2200 (8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.) to be exact. I was hoping to cook dinner and go for a run after class, but then realized I had to stay late, so I ended up eating McDonald's again. I have to tell you, ever since I came to Nelsonville, I've never disliked McDonald's so much in my lifetime. I'm sick of it, but usually never have time to eat anything else. Tomorrow will probably be the same because I didn't get the chance to cook anything today and I have class late tomorrow too.
Anyhow, let's get to the important stuff. So I talked to my Commander today. He told me that because I didn't test last week (Final PT Test), if I tested this Wednesday it would be my only chance to pass it. Here's my dilemma, if I didn't currently have a job offer, I would take the medical extension, let me leg heal a little more, re-train and take the test at a later date, but because I have a job offer (Acadia National Park-still waiting to hear from HR by the way) I need to take the test ASAP. Also, if I don't pass this test and it's my only opportunity to do so, then I don't graduate. I would have just wasted five months of my life and a ton of money for nothing. I was really upset when he told me this awful news because I wasn't sure I'd pass it anyhow. I thought my nerves were shot before and then I heard this news and thought I'd pass out for sure.
Luckily, the Commander came back to me later and said there might be a way to take a second shot at the test if need-be. That makes me feel a little better; at least there's a little bit of cushion there. However, I'm still hoping to pass this thing Wednesday. I'm still nervous, but I'm starting to come over to the "I can do it" side. It's just really hard to think that your whole law enforcement career can come down to one test. Thank you everyone for your support, I could really use it right now. I'll keep you all updated.
