Today was quite the adventure. Matt and I were headed up to Logan to do some hiking. It was supposed to be close to 50 degrees today and what better than a hike on a beautiful afternoon? Well, we didn't really make it.

When we got to Logan (about 15 minutes away), we filled up on gas and left the gas station. As we were headed towards the hiking area, Matt noticed that the brakes on his truck felt funny. Luckily we were at a red light at the time. So we pulled into the nearby Walmart and checked the vehicle. It turns out that there was no brake fluid so we went into Walmart, got the brake fluid and put it in the truck. Matt was sort of dumbfounded at this point because he had just put brake fluid in the truck about three weeks ago and it shouldn't have been empty already. So he turned the truck on, pumped the brakes and all the fluid came spurting out like a geyser at Yellowstone National Park. So we attempted to bring the truck to a Goodyear right across the street. Unfortunately the sole mechanic was out to lunch and they didn't have any openings until tomorrow at noon anyway. Great.

So we decided to head back to Nelsonville and drop the truck off at the local shop. When you're in towns like Nelsonville and Logan, you really don't get an option. There's a few more shops in Logan, but not all of them deal with brakes. Go figure. Anyhow, we made it back safely and took my car to get groceries and such. Chris tagged along and we all stopped at a Chinese buffet for lunch. It was decent and I was starving. I ate a ton of chocolate pudding. YUM!

I've packed my lunch, got my PT gear ready for the early a.m. and have my uniform laid out for after PT. It was nice having a day off, now back to work! Oh and tomorrow's supposed to be even warmer; Wednesday-Friday we are going to be in the 60s! WAHOO! Bring it on-I can't wait!!!!

Beforethe truck broke today, Matt showed me this house. A guy built it by himself and it's made completely out of cement. It's a little run down but still really cool...

We also pit stopped on our way to Walmart and went to see the cross at the top of the mountain. You can see all of Nelsonville from here...

What is up with that house? Are they preparing for the aliens?!

lol No aliens. This was all cement, made to stand up to wind storms, fires, possible flooding (?), etc. I think it's actually a pretty cool idea!

Heidi, I think it is ironic that two of your pictures were very close to me personally. The Cross in Nelsonville is right above my childhood home. I grew up on the road that leads to the cross. The second is the spherical house. I currently live about a mile from it. You just keep driving past it and I live on one of the side roads. I'll send you a message on FB. -your favorite DT Instructor...lol
