The night before, I made sure to iron my slacks and shirt (our uniform) and shine my shoes. Yes, for the first time in my life I had to shine my own shoes.
The people in my class seem to all be really nice. There were supposed to be 24 of use, but two didn’t show. There is one other girl but she is very petite. I really couldn’t see her becoming a law enforcement official.
The lectures were long today, but necessary. Unfortunately, so is all the paperwork that goes along with the course. Not only did we have several, several pages of documents to fill out (medical, professional, etc.), but we also received homework (about another 30 pages) and to add insult to injury, we were given three 4” binders and one 1” binder filled to the brim with documents. If you don’t believe me, see the photo, exhibit A. This is going to be a long road. A good, but long first day. The good news is that we get a 10 minute break for every 50 minutes we sit in class. :)
The photos above are the small hidden historic part of Nelsonville.
