I got up at about 7:30 this morning but didn’t feel like getting out of bed until about 8:30. :) I made myself roll out of bed, get a big bowl of cereal and pack up my laundry for the Self Service Laundry Center. This is going to be an adventure in itself.
So I stopped at an ATM at the People’s Choice Bank (unfortunately they don’t have any PNC’s or Bank of America’s or any other big banks around here). I paid $2.00 to get my own money out and took out a $20 for laundry day.
I proceeded to the laundry place, unloaded about half of my laundry and went to use the coin machine. It says right on the machine that it takes one, five, ten and twenty dollar bills. Apparently not. Great. Now what? I decided to load my laundry into the machines rather than carry it back to the car. Who’s going to steal my dirty laundry anyway? I drove a minute down the road and stopped at the McDonalds where I got a few five dollar bills. Back to the laundry mat and I finally get my quarters! OK, so I’ve got my quarters and soap and the laundry is all loaded but where does the soap go? Yes, I’ve never been to a laundry mat before. I have used the ones at college (Towson University), but they weren’t like this. I finally looked allllll around the machine and found the little pull drawer. OK, now we’re getting somewhere. Unfortunately these stupid things cost $2.00 a piece. I think that’s insane. Oh and that’s just the washer by the way. I think the dryers are another $2.00. I’ve got a lot of laundry and this is going to take a while. Luckily I’ve got my note cards and very large notebook to study from.
