What a weekend! It was so great to have a relaxing three day weekend. Friday night I hung out with the guys at The Mine to celebrate our passing of the firearms course. Saturday I was pretty lazy and didn't do much of anything. Sunday a few of us went out to the Strouds free range. It was nice to try a few different model handguns. I forget which kind of gun Rich has (an XD something?) but I liked his the best. It was a 9mm. I also shot an XD 40cal and a Glock, but I didn't like the Glock at all. The 40cal had a little more kickback than the 9mm, but I'd still like to try a few more versions. Right now my favorite is still the gun I worked with last week which was the Sig Sauer P250.
We had today off because we got through everything with firearms last week pretty quickly. Today was my birthday and I started off by making banana bread with Katherine, doing laundry at the laundromat and then four of us headed to Athens to visit the Walmart and Dollar Tree. Apparently while we were shopping Matt was being sneaky and setting up dinner plans. He texted all of the guys in the class and told them to meet us at Applebee's at 5:30. My mom was also being sneaky and had Facebooked Matt earlier this week to have him set this all up. She sent me a gift card in the mail and it arrived today with perfect timing. She bought us all dinner. Thanks mom and Ed! Also, my little sister Hope sent me a cute picture frame and card and my older sister Heather and her husband Jason sent me a t-shirt and a couple of books. My grandparents also sent me a card and check. Thank you everyone for an awesome birthday! Check back for pics soon. I don't have time to post them tonight because I have to get up early in the morning, but I will try to post them tomorrow.
The shoes are shined, I'm ready for my taser nomenclature test tomorrow and I'm heading to bed. :)
